He was born and raised in the UK and he received his schooling via the traditional grammar school system in the county of Buckinghamshire, so students can enjoy a clear, neutral, standard British accent in their classes. He views the English language in two complementary ways. On the one hand, it is an indispensable tool for communication and for the dissemination of information in the 21st century. On the other hand (and just as much!), it is a rich language full of flexibility, nuance, and amusing and interesting quirks. In class, Michael guides you toward natural, effortless self-expression using a variety of techniques. This includes raising awareness of existing mistakes, analysing relevant authentic materials for language you can 'borrow', and presenting other options and strategies for communicating your intended meaning more effectively.

He has been teaching since 2015, when he received his CELTA (The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification in Oxford in the UK. Having been primarily focused on working 1-to-1 with clients since then, Michael is highly experienced in providing lessons that meet the unique personal requirements of the individual.

Since 2015 he has worked in diverse language environments including in Slovakia and China. He was in charge of teacher-training for 2 years while working in China, and is passionate about efficiency in learning and practicing sound pedagogy in the classroom. As a hobby language-learner himself he is full of empathy for the difficulties you face as a learner. And as he likes to say, 'If you aren't enjoying learning, you probably aren't learning much at all!'.
